2010-2012 Grant Areas
The Sauer Children's Renew Foundation will fund programs in the state of Minnesota with priority given to the Twin Cities Metro Area. The funding priorities for 2010 – 2012 are:
50% of our funding will be for family supportive housing programs for homeless families.
We want to create or enhance children’s programming in family supportive housing programs that will help the children experience appropriate developmental progress. We will also fund proposals that will increase the success rates of families moving to self-sufficiency. Priority will be given to creating or enhancing an after-care program when appropriate.
50% of our funding will be for the following areas:
- Homeless Youth - Supportive housing for unaccompanied homeless youth including programs for pregnant or parenting homeless youth that move them to self-sufficiency.
- Child Abuse/Neglect – Mental health treatment for the trauma of abuse and neglect for children and parents; holistic approaches to breaking the cycle of abuse and neglect.
- Aging Out of Foster Care - Programs that help youth aging out of foster care emancipate to support and self-sufficiency.
- Education/Healthy Development - Early childhood education, after school programs and one-on-one mentoring with a strong educational component to prepare low-income children for success in school and in life.
We will be looking for programs that use holistic family interventions, scaling up research-based practices, opportunities to leverage other funding or affect public policy.
